After seeing how hard life can be and struggling in its jagged edges,

I realize how important it is to show love.

Giving someone a glimpse of happiness in their life can make all the difference in the world. It can be the difference between life and death.

What if one flower could make someone's entire day/life?

I went to a flower shop with a good friend of mine one day and we bought some flowers. It was slowly becoming a rainy day and we decided we wanted to give a sunflower to a random person we saw while we were out.

A crossing guard in our neighborhood happened to be outside doing his job in the rain, and on this particularly gloomy day I jumped out of the car and gave him a sunflower. He looked so happy and I was so nervous to give it to him but I think he really liked it.

It was a sweet moment and one I won't forget, hopefully that memory sticks with him for a while because it's something I had been wanting to do for a while since I got out of the hospital.

Each day felt the same and I needed to be reminded of love in the world.

What you put out into the world, you get back - but that's not why you do it.

It's true that if you give love to receive it you'll never get it. You'll be in an endless cycle of giving in order to receive and you will live expecting things from other people that they might not be able to give you.

Instead, when you give from a place of love you don't need anything back but the smile on their face.

There's nothing you really need but love.

I love you my sunflower.

-stay loving

Love,

Liv
